Joint Conference Features Program Tracks and Workshops

The joint conference includes program tracks and technical assistance workshops dealing with lead hazard control, lead poisoning prevention and Healthy Home program issues. Program tracks, technical assistance workshops and consultation roundtables are offered from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon to provide in-depth education and discussion.  Sessions and workshops are organized under the two conferences listed below.  Attendees are encouraged to participate in any session.

Other Conference Features

Sessions to Help Grantees respond to HUD’s FY’10 NOFA for Lead and Healthy Homes Grants, administer grant programs, and overcome “red” and “yellow” grant status.

Opportunities to Experience How New Orleans Is Recovering from Katrina by touring Katrina-ravaged areas, attending presentations by organizations involved in the recovery process, and volunteering to work with these organizations.

City Showcases and Consultation Roundtables designed to provide attendees with the opportunity to engage in interactive, small group discussions on  issues faced by public  agencies, community groups, consultants and contractors, and facility operators when undertaking health programs, lead hazard control and health housing programs, and environmental hazard inspection and remediation projects.

Plenary Sessions that provide the opportunity to learn about new policy, program and legislative initiatives designed to advance lead poison prevention and Healthy Home objectives.
